Part of a loutrophoros decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe.

It depicts the stage of the wedding procession where the newlyweds arrive at their new house, the groom’s paternal home. The figures of the couple have not survived. It seems, however, that they were riding on a quadriga received by two women, with the first one holding a wreath. One more woman, perhaps the groom’s mother, stands in front of the horses holding, most likely, two torches. The inscription preserved over the two women’s heads informs us that ΤΑΛΕΙΔΕΣ ΕΠΟΙΕΣΕΝ, meaning that Taleides made the vessel.
